I had an amazing time staying at MBI Hostel. The bed and pillows (two!) were the most comfortable I’ve had so far while backpacking across Asia. Amazing place. It's very fairly priced, the bathroom and rooms are clean and hygienic. The dorm is very comfortable. You have one row facing the wall with two level-bunk beds, so, you have some privacy with curtains. The mattress is comfortable and the AC great. Hostel is in a great location right in the middle of the southern side of the island, a short walk from pretty much anything other than the northern beaches. Had a private room. It was okay, but lighting was limited and the bathroom smelled damp. The sink tap didn't work. The shower pressure was a trickle. Very few places to hang stuff up. Power outages on the island make the room less habitable. Wish I'd looked elsewhere, but it was workable for 3 nights
Located near most restaurants. We had a private room. It was small 6sqm. We fit really well. The room needs improvement like the toilet door. It is on the main road so its gets noisy at night when vehicles are passing buy. Can't complain since malapuasca is a small island. If youre looking for a budget place and private room, i would recommend this place plus free coffee 🫢♥️ Overall, we liked this place.
Prior to arriving - i messaged asking about the diving and they were abrupt and rude back to me and then ignored. Arrived and waited at reception for about 20 minutes before a staff member (who was sat on the sofa) decided to check us in. So unwelcoming and rude! Gave me no information.
